Shopping & Dining Districts

Waynesboro Town Square

Tennessee State Hwy 13 and Hwy 64 meet at Waynesboro Court Square. The standing county courthouse, contemporary in design was looked upon as a state of the art structure at the time of  its construction during the late 1970's. A stroll across the courthouse lawn and on toward the gazebo reveals a county rich in history through the monuments and memorials dedicated to those who have served our country with honor and valor.

Antiques and specialty items can be found in shops around court square, along with a delicious mix of local cuisine. Begin your shopping experience on the north side of Waynesboro square with a visit to the Antique Mall of Waynesboro. Multiple vendors keep the mall stocked with antique furnishings, collectibles and glassware. As you stroll up the street, be sure to stop in and say "Hello" to Carl Griggs, owner of Carl's Music Studio.

Time to rest? Hungry, yet?    You have your choice of Emeralds or Jeanette's on the square or Bradley's, just around the corner. A full-service fine dining experience awaits you at  Emeralds Restaurant, along the west side of court square. Known for their home-made pizzas, Emeralds' menu also features several varieties of pasta and sandwiches. Open every day from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. Dress is casual and atmosphere is fun! If  you're looking for more of a retro 50's diner experience, then step back in time at Bradley's Restaurant. Serve yourself up a hot plate lunch or order off the grill. Looking for some live entertainment with your dinner? Be sure to check out Jeanette's Food & Entertainment every Saturday night! Tex-Mex cuisine. All restaurants are open daily for lunch and dinner.

Sherry's Fine Jewelry offers locally hand-crafted cultured pearl and Greek leather jewelry, a variety of handbags and accessories and a full-line of Merle Norman skincare products.

Be sure to carry home a souvenir t-shirt from Nanny's & Granny's or find a good book to read along your journey at Books & More. Both businesses are located on the south side of court square.

Clifton Main Street

A quiet and relaxing experience awaits you in Clifton. Nestled on the banks of the Tennessee River, Main Street ends at the old ferry landing that transported residents across the Tennessee River for many years. Make your first stop the Greater Clifton Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, located right across the street from Peoples Bank. A friendly volunteer will help guide you to the finest dining, golfing and boating along the Tennessee River! Be sure to take in The River's Edge, a stained glass studio featuring local works of art. Enjoy breakfast or lunch with friends at the Bear Inn Cafe'. Walk along Historic Pillow Street on old original stone sidewalks. Follow Historic Water Street along the banks of the river to Clifton Marina, the T. S. Stribling Home and Museum and Ross Creek Landing , a multiple award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. Convenient access via Hwy 64, the Tennessee River or the Clifton Airport!

Collinwood- on Broadway!

Exit the Natchez Trace mm 355, a national parkway stretching from Nashville, Tennessee to Natchez, Mississippi and step off the beaten path and on to the back roads of Tennessee. Once a thriving railroad town, the original train depot and a select few buildings along Broadway Street are reminders of an era of busy streets and sidewalks now long gone.

But this is a strong little town on the verge of a rebirth. Welcoming weary travelers off the Natchez Trace, a host of volunteers staff Wayne County's own welcome center directing visitors to local restaurants, shops and recreational spots. Located just behind the Welcome Center, the Dragonfly-an Emporium serves up specialty coffees and smoothies and offers a glimpse of the artistic ability in the area. Visit Collinwood Hardware, across the street from the Wayne County Welcome Center for a selection of cast iron utensils, washboards and all your farming needs! Next door to the center is Miss HazelBea's Sweets and Treats, your  true old-fashioned candy shop!

Continue Hwy 13 South to stock up on grocery items at Long Green's Supersaver. You can re-enter the Natchez Trace Parkway from Hwy 13, four miles south of town.

We hope you've enjoyed your miniature tour of Wayne County and will visit us soon!
